Water Meter Reading

In the field of water meter readings, LECOMTE has stood out for more than 20 years now. Today, we offer two advanced technologies, including one that will revolutionize everything you know about water meter reading in addition to standard direct and remote readings.

The good old-fashioned direct reading method (inside buildings) still exists and consists of obtaining a water meter with a direct register and taking the reading manually at the desired intervals.

This type of reading is still widely used and consists of taking a reading from the water meter using a reading gun or an external display. To do this, the meter register must be of the "encoded" type compared to the direct register mentioned in point 1.

Radio reading is done in two ways: drive-by or on walk-by. To do this, an antenna must be connected to the meter, which must be equipped with an "encoded" register. The antenna records up to 960 readings which will then be collected, via radio waves, by the reading device used.

Available models: ITRON ERT-100W or BADGER ORION ME

These antennas are part of the new BEACON system of which BADGER is the pioneer. The difference with the radio wave: you will have the reading of each of your installations, every day, every hour, in the comfort of your office, via the WEB interface, and each of your customers, will also have its access code and will be able to access, via an application on iPad or cell phone, a personal page indicating its consumption and different alerts. The biggest advantage of this system is that once the installation is completed and the purchase costs paid, you will no longer have to worry about anything. All you have to do is pay the annual management fee and you're done.

For all types of reading, be aware that you can:

  • Buy the complete equipment and read your meters yourself;
  • Rent our equipment for a certain period of time and read your meters yourself;
  • Contract the mandate to the Lecomte Counters team and we will do the readings for you.
